Read moreA histologic examination of tumor is required to establish the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Typically, this is accomplished with a prostate biopsy. A prostate biopsy may be indicated based upon clinical symptoms, an abnormal digital rectal examination (DRE), or an elevated serum PSA.
